yay! i'm so glad you liked american teen, erin. i wasn't bored by the film at all! i thought this was a break through that they mixed reality (standard docu film) with the animation BUT managed to keep the story very grounded in reality. what did you think of those details? did you find them jarring at all?
did you feel like the school administration handled hannah's abscenteeism with the same compassion that they handled the blonde's vandalism incident?
i'd add that this wasn't the hills bc i wanted to be hannah bailey! quirky = cool in this portrayal. i also never felt like the students were performing for the cameras which is a HUGE triumph.
i wonder if the film makers followed more teens in the school but these were the strongest stories. i bet they were PSYCHED when hannah and mitch hooked up.
haven't seen the kid stays in the picture but i've seen on the ropes.
have fun at your reunion! i had mine last year and it was a TRIP!
cathy - did you end up seeing the movie?
hey Lauren, I wasn't bored by the film either, I was responding to how some critics of the film have said there's not enough drama in these kids' stories. In my fever cloud, I may have stated it poorly but my own high school years were far more wholesome than the likes of Gossip Girl or reality tv shows so I could relate to these "boring" kids fairly easily. :)
Hannah's student film is available on YouTube, it's really good!
